If you're looking for that traditional red and black plaid shirt, the one that's soft, warm and makes the woman in your life want to run off with it to keep warm on a cold winter day, this in the one.

To start the size was a perfect fit. My husband is always a size large in everything. He's about 6 foot and 200 lbs. Size large was spot on. And he wears it with a tee shirt under it. He tried it on and it looked perfect. Later on that evening he had the AC in the house cranked up and it gave me a chance to swipe his short and try it out myself.

It's the very last day of August in MN right now and we can go from 85 deg in the day and down to 40's at night. My husband loves the cold. I however get chilled when the house gets below 72 degrees. It was cold outside and he also had the AC on, so I was freezing. I spotted his new fleece shirt hanging on the back of a kitchen chair, so wrapped up in it like a sweatshirt. I wore is for hours. I love how soft it is. And warm. It's thin enough to not be bulky, but still warm. The fleece it's made of is less stiff than flannel chamois shirts. It starts out soft and doesn't need to be "broken in".

For my husband who loves the cold, this is a late fall/winter shirt. It's warm, but because it's not bulky he'll wear it. When something's too bulky to be easily worn under his winter Carhartt, then it doesn't get worn very often. This slides right under his jacket. Seriously nice shirt.

I’m already anticipating the first fall in which this will become a regular part of my wardrobe as I work around the yard, haul firewood or set out to shoot some images. The garment is designed to look like your favorite, broken in heavy flannel shirt but it is crafted out of an updated, softer and warmer polar fleece fabric. Unlike your flannel which will have to be covered or swapped out when the weather turns wet, this sweater is can keep going, shedding water rather than absorbing it.

The cut on the shirt is very comfortable for most men. It is modern but not slim and formfitting and even buttoned up have full range of movement. The fabric is ready to move with you right out of the package and doesn’t appear as though it’s going to pill terribly badly. Only time and repeated washing would give the answer to that. For a work shirt you are more interested in its heat retention anyway and the Wrangler does an excellent job. Try one on and you won’t want to wear anything else.

This is a good fleece shirt; not too heavy, not too lightweight. It's not the high quality "Polartec" fleece - it's the usual inexpensive fleece that is sold everywhere these days. 100% polyester so very easy to care for. Just throw in the wash & hang dry. If you want to fluff it up, let it go in the dryer for 10 minutes & then hang dry. It's warm & cuddly & has classic style.

The cut is loose, plenty of room for a t-shirt underneath - at least on my slim husband. He is 6 feet tall & has long arms; the sleeves are plenty long. The buttons seem to be sewn on well & there is polyester fabric backing on the buttonhole placket, pocket placket, cuffs, collar & around the neckline. There is no back yolk; has a straight back. Perfect shirt for cool weather weekends.

I knew my husband would appreciate this shirt. A cold winter is expected and I want him to have quality tops from trusted brands that will last and keep him warm. This shirt fits that bill! It looks great on my husband and it's easy to care for. I asked him to share his thought on it below.

Husband's thoughts: If it's cold out, a warm, comfortable shirt is key. This shirt is both of those things! It's not itchy, it's warm, and stylish too!

I've worn it with a t-shirt and without and both were comfortable.

The shirt feels durable and well made, with a lined collar.

It has two breast pockets with buttons. The buttons are securely sew on.

The fit is nice and comfortable. Sleeves are the right length.

For years, my husband shoveled the snow in the exact same outfit - flannel lined J Crew jeans, a waffle weave Henley under a scratchy wool lumberjack shirt topped off with a down-filled vest. Well, that shirt was getting awful moth-eaten so I jumped at the chance to replace it with this Wrangler plaid fleece top.

It's very different than the wool top in that it's not at all stiff, but extremely soft and lightweight. He liked the fabric very much and declared the slightly roomy fit comfortable. I should mention, at 6 foot/200 pounds, he wears a large and it fits him beautifully - even his 17 inch neck! The quality seems very good and I imagine the fleece will be nearly as warm as the wool. The only thing I can't speak for is how well it will hold up to repeated washings. I know that fleece tends to pill, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Overall this is a nice looking, functional piece of clothing. I intend to toss the nasty old wool shirt at the first opportunity.

A little large, but great comfort and great price. Good pockets tht actually hold stuff instead of being decoration. Nice cuffs, collar.
